Burnt Cane on Windy Days
The wind for saturday is looking to be about 15-20 mph out of the west. Has anyone been fishing burnt cane or had any luck there in the past on windy days. I know the banks are lined with trees but have never fished there in the wind. Thanks for any help.

I fished there with my brother last Saturday and did not have much problem staying out of the wind. That lake has many long twists and bends that run north/south. The wind is expected to be from the west/southwest. I plan to fish it on Saturday and I am not too concerned about the wind. Maybe CEB or Fishingpox will chime in. They fish that lake often.

Gut Shot,
Did you catch any fish there last weekend or have you heard of anyone catching this week.
Thanks,

We only caught a few and they all had eggs in them. Caught them all on a black/chartreuse jig slow troling around isolated structure. Fish seemed to be suspended at about 3 feet in about 8 feet of water. We only fished from about noon to 4:00. This was our first time on the lake. I will be ther on Saturday with my father. If you are there look for me. I will be in acamo 16' Triton with a 25 Merc and Alabama registration. The only guy that I talked with last saturday said that he caut 26 but had fished all day.

Good news: You can usually find a place out of the wind.
Bad news: So can everyone else:D
The weekends are normally pretty busy, even this time of year. I have a 24v 70lb thrust trolling motor. Like the commercial says, "Forget the wind, just hunt....er uh.....FISH!"

FYI. Barometric pressure is 29.9 and falling. Should be right on Saturday. There were 6 boats on Burnt Cane when I was there last Saturday. No problem finding a place to fish.
