north carolina crappie tournaments

The first of the N.C.crappie tournaments is on the books.
The Jan 19th tourney that was postponed due to bad weather was held on Jan. 26th.
Ed Smith, fishing by himself, took home 1st place with a total weight of 7.32 pounds and 2nd big fish of 1.63 pounds.
Glynn sharon and Randy Bowen finished 2nd with a total weight of 7.14 pounds and had 1st big fish of 2.18 pounds.
The next tourney is on Feb.16th at Badin Lake from 7:30-2:30 at Circle Drive.

boy, sounds like a good tourny there,but i wander if the big fish was a black crappie or white. if it was a white crappie , then that was the new state record,i think..

Sounds like belews is a pretty good crappie lake. Use to fish there when it was still filling up and was told water was too clear and lake was warm from hot hole so fishing wasn't good.Didn't know much about fishing then as a teenager, come to think about it ,sometimes don't seem to know much more now

The Slider regrets not being able to fish the tournament,but if i had you would have seen some real big fish!

all the lakes have a good area for canoers - to go and paddle around for some fish - I think haxkman might kyack some on High Rock ...or I know someboy does
