Some of my jigs, Need Opinions

Any comments/critiques of the jigs or the photos themselves? I'm gonna find something to use as a background next time I take them.

The legend is head color/body color/tail color.

All are 1/16th oz with #2 sickle hooks.

This is pretty much a standard jig, with painted eyes. The pupil got smudged a bit but you can see the idea.

Those will work. Remember the principle "Less is more."

If you use just a little less marabou, you will get more action in the water. Just give the appearance of a baitfish outline. I like variegated chenille bodies. They attract more fish and look great underwater. Overall, good job. Crappies beware.

I'm talking with Skip about getting some more variegated chenille, I just gotta decide which colors I want.

Good looking jigs Smooth . Did you powder coat or use vinyl paint ?

You don't like yellow and orange much do you? Body looks good, nice consistent wraps. Might wanna shorten some of those tails 25%. Nice work!

I used to use vinyl paint, but it was difficult to work with, especially for less than 12 jigs. I use powder paint now and bake them in the toaster oven. Hold up better than the vinyl paint ever thought about doing.

LOL I just noticed that I do have a lot of yellow and orange ones. Oh well. I just tied them on the few heads I had laying there and matched the body colors to the heads.

Jughead, it takes a good bit of practice and a lot of trying new things. Feel free to ask any questions though, that's the fastest way to learn.

Where do you get them hooks
