Oh you ARE the man, thanks Len.
2" comperssion fitting cut in half, then i machined the nut part to fit a 2" coupler. http://onfinite.com/libraries/1292093/fa1.jpg
robber, gonna share any more details?
This was my first try. I used the compression coupler because it had a rubber bung you can wrap a piece of paper bag or a coffee filer or two depending on how it works and you can do it on the top or bottem depending on how deep you want your bed. I made them (2, because i had the other 1/2 of the comp coup) about a year ago but have not used them yet. Like I said I put a groove in the nut(using lathe)and epoxied the normal 2" pvc coulper to the nut, and then I had a few pieces of plexi so I epoxied that as the base after sanding flat. I used a hose barb but many use a small brass ice maker valve to control the air. I alread had air pumps form my fish stuff and valves. Over at tackleunderground under homebrew tools you will find threads on fluid beds and cadman emails plans to alot of guys, I came up with this one myself. The are also links to i think tj tackle with videos of using the fluid beds. I have though about making a long alum one to dip a bar full of jigs but I will be just starting to make my jighead mold in about two weeks when school starts again. Most fluid beds are 3 or 4" this one is only 2" just for small stuff and not to need to have alot of powder. the nut unscrews from the base as expected and you can change the membrane. On of the most interesting things I heard recently was to lower the temp of you jigs before dipping to get less paint, so you dont get nipple jigs. They know way more than I over at tu. There are many full blown lure manufactures over there.
