Deep Cycle Batt info

I have had a deep cycle marine batt in the shed for a few years and never used it but for 1 season as a started batt.
I put it on the charger this morning and added water (Reverse Osmosis) just neede a little but still only get 11.4 volts on it..My question is can the battery come back to life after using it or cycling the battery down a few times or is it a lost cause?
I hate to have to go out and get a new battery if this one might be able to come back to life.
I saw a battery conditioner at wally word and bass pro that says it helps any info or experience using a battery conditioner like that?

Save your money and buy a new battery. Its shot.

It was trash 6 months after it went in the shed. Don't waste any time or money on it.

I got one like youre talking about now. I night fish and use it to run my 2-13 watt flourescent lights and my GPS off of but quit hooking that battery in parallel with my other marine battery since it starts draining my good batt right off the get-go.The older battery is still useful for what I need it to do but know I will have to replace it before too long. It still takes about 1/2 a charge and is still lasting me after 3 or 4 mos. like it is. I've tried additives and even changing out the acid in batteries before and it never worked for me.

drop the battery on the floor from bout 6 inches a few times the plates get corroded and some times you can knock the crap offin em, then recharge. or it just be crap

I agree use it for lights if possible.

A boiling battery can produce a substantial amount of Hydrogen gas. Thus creating a small non-nuclear H-BOMB capable of burning you, your boat, and anything in its path. Avoid a boiling battery at all costs...........

It sounds like one of the cells in the battery is shorted. If you just use it by itself for the lights you'll be fine.
