from Cane Creek lake to lake Wesson
Chris, (CEB) would be proud today. It was a tough fishing day. bluebird skies, and no wind on CC. I actually thought it was gonna be an awesome fishing trip productively. I didn't even get to star city when bobberwatcher called me at 615. We met up at the ramp, & made our way out there. I didn't even get all of my poles in the water before I had 2 fish in the boat. The sun hadn't gotten up & there was a light north breeze.

After the sun got up, the wind died down & so did the bite.
For the rest of the day, I picked up a fish about once every 45 minutes to an hour. We got a little bit of an incident when an elderly gentleman fell out of his boat into the water, & bobberwatcher and several of us came over to help & "fished" him out of the lake. Obviously, bobberwatcher had the big fish of the day, at over 175 lbs. not very many folks got there limit by the time I left at 3 pm, but the bites that I got were quality. I spider rigged just like ol' CEB taught me; steer into the wind, vary the depth on your poles, and just nudge the boat & hover. I trolled from 630 am to 3 pm. I wound up with 9 good keepers, with the biggest at just over 15 inches.

I don't want to spoil jerry's (LA stumpjumper) thunder, but his partner landed a monster today. Here is a far off shot.

Best of all, I told the wife to get the grease ready, so we decided to release these boys & girls into lake wesson when I got home, after we took a few pics.

Cane Creek is a good place to go in the winter time. The fishing is still going to get better, & I'll be back soon. I even got to see Willie (Lucky) out there. Willie was caught using some minnows to catch fish there today, but he didn't want anyone to know. He still claims to be a die hard jig fisherman. Anyway, I hope I made Chris proud. One of the few successful spider riggin trips that I've had.
