Lake Conway/Little Mamuelle
Hey guys. Just thought I'd check in. I've been fishing both Lake Conway and the Little Maumelle regularly the past few weeks. Conway was incredible for bream this summer. I've been fishing Conway for over 20 years and NEVER have I seen the size of bluegill come out there that we caught through the summer. But...that's over.
Crappie...not much happening yet. My wife did catch one medium size crappie on the Little Mamuelle Saturday at the mouth of the river. Baitfish are beginning to school up so with cooler weather it should begin to pick up.
Gold Creek on Lake Conway is choked with schooling baitfish (back at the bridge and beyond) and are being chased by bigger fish but at the moment it seems to be small bass. Again, though, when the cooler weather sets in it should really pick up for the crappie. Of course, for those of you who fish Gold Creek you know it's not a large area and I'm sure the fisherman may out number the fish. But what the heck.
Hope everyone is doing well. Gooch seems to be fileting wild chickens. Sounds like Chris is learning to deliver babies. Jerry's post on Lake Greeson makes the heart race.
Take care.
Joe
