What setting do you guys run your sensitivity at? I put a fishmark 480 on the bow of my boat and put the hockey puck transducer on my trolling motor, and when the trolling motor is running I lose the screen and the depth display starts flashing all kinds of erroneous depths. I also run a fishmark 480 on the back of the boat as well. Could they be interfering with each other? Any suggestions?
Are you powering your 480 on the bow from the TM battery? If so, then that is the problem.Quote:

I ruled out the sonar, as I hooked up a my 320 to it, and got the same results. Turns out, my transducer cable had gotten too many licks from stumps from the way it lays around the side of the motor, and I found several little tears through the wire insulation.........so, I had to buy another one. We had a club meeting last night and a guy that is well versed in electronics gave us a talk on the use of sonar/gps ..His thought,ALWAYS ON AUTOMATIC SeTTING ON SENSITIVITY,,as for you and your specific problem,i would guess putting them on a source other than the trolling motor and on another battery seperate from all the others..keep tranducers as far away as possible from each other..thats what I heard,,,ss
If you are running 2 units operating at the same frequency then you will experience interference from each other as you get into deeper water. I have 2 Lowrances operating at 200khz. As I approach water deeper than about 20ft I start seeing interference. As I continue into deeper water I may loose the bottom on one of them. I can turn one of them off and everything is fine.
Same thing here. I noticed that when i'm in water over 18 ft deep, my 320 on the front has interference issues with my 480 on the back. I turn the 480 off as i fish from the front and dont have any problems. On another note tho, i had a 320C on the bow. It kept giving me false readings even with the other unit off. Decided to just take it off and put the 320 back on but when i got the transducer cable loose from the troller, i noticed that the wire had a slice in it. Changed it and i haven't had a problem since then. I still dont use the color unit. I like the other one better.Quote:

One thing you guys might try is to change each unit to a different ping speed setting. Might help with some of the interference you guys are seeing.

No need for me to change pings. I fish most of the time by myself so i just turn it off. No sense running it with nobody using it.:D
