I have a 94 tracker tx-17 and the fuse block is a little beat up, loose connections, electronics tend to shut off in rough water and that is a problem for me. Aside from fusing a new connection directly to the battery (thought maybe this would be the best route anyway) , has anyone replaced their block with a new unit, and what did you use? I'd love to have one that uses normal auto fuses, instead of the old glass style fuse.
Any help is appreciated.
BPS sell a fuse block at a good price. I think Cabela's does too.
I wonder if anybody makes a add-on block with circuit breakers instead
of fuses? I know some of the boat co's are using breakers now.
Just an idea. If you can't find what you want in marine books, might
check into Jeg's or Summit, car stuff. Some of the street rod or even
race car equipment might cross over nice. I think some of the dirt track
wiring is even made waterproof.

Thanks Guys. I'll check with the local dealer first, then compare against other sites. Somehow I think the tracker dealer will be the highest.
I followed this link and looked around and found only fuse blocks. I then went to the Search By Category on the left side of the page and under Maine Electrical to Marine Breaker Panels and found just what I was looking for.Quote:

A fuse block is nothing more than a power and ground source.One side is hooked to power the other ground.Then the fuses act as breakers between the two so if a short happens it will blow the fuse and not the device.If you want to install one just hook power wire to one side and ground source to the other and then each device to a different set of termials with its own fuse.alot less to wire and works same as running 15-20 wires all the way back to the batteries:D
so you run your wires to the box and the part of the box that hooks to the battery has only two cables coming out a positive and neg, that goes to the battery?Quote:
