Your post prompted me to call Dan and get a report.....
He has seen a couple of fishermen come out of the creek with a few keepers and one that was around two pounds. He also said the bream have been real good during the hot weather but, have slowed during the cool offs. He said he will be keeping plenty of minnows and the ramp is in the same shape as last year.
It has been my experience the crappie will turn on around the first of October or the first morning that I wished I had my sweatshirt on. For now, tight line a small jig in the pads from the bridge on up into the creek and those along the banks of the creeks. You will pick up on bream with the occasional bonus crappie. By the end of October consentrate in the pool around 9' to 10'.
I am done now. I ain't going to be a flip until I can get out there.
Dan will tell you what he knows. He just ain't trying to sell minnows.

How is that boat launch there at gold creek.
It has been rough in the past.
I have a new boat and haven't been there in a year.
Thanks for the report, Don. I hope to get in on some of the action at Conway this fall. I guess I missed out last year.
And if the water levels are the same as the last time I was there, the ramp at Gold Creek is in good shape, with good concrete. It falls off pretty quickly, but it's still better than others that I've used at the lake. Hope you have a good time bigfishn, and be sure to give us a good report.
Thanks for the help and I will let you know how it goes..
