I know this has nothing to do with crappie fishing but I got drawn for the Kentucky elk hunt. I was one of the 300 lucky hunters drawn to hunt elk in eastern KY and I can't wait.I didn't get a bull tag but did get lucky enough to get a cow tag.

Congrats Slabdaddy! Now I hope your luck runs long enough to get that perfect shot. You and the yours will be eating some fine meat this winter. Have you checked the cost of Elk meat?
Prices are from a 2007 product catalogue I just recieved yesterday from a store in Jackson Hole Wyoming. Good Hunting and enjoy!
Elk Jerky--4 oz. bag $12.25
Elk Tenderloin--- 2 lbs of steaks $112.00
" " 4 lbs of steak $182.00
Elk T- Bone -- ((8) 5 oz. Elk T-bone steaks--$95.00
Elk New York Strip Steaks-- 2lbs. $91.00
And I thought the price of Crappie was high!
I'll let this post stay, if I can get a strip of tenderloin shipped to me  :D :pQuote:
