i love to spider rig but it looks like for the next few weeks its supposed to be windy, i currently use ACC 16' rods, would i be better off using stiffer poles or even swapping up pulling planer boards or longline?

For me, that would depend on where the Crappie were ... depth & what seasonal pattern they were in. But, in my case, I'd likely be Pushing jigs in open water (in the past). Nowadays, I'd likely be Livescope Flippin' to those spots where the fish congregated ... approaching those spots from the downwind side.
