Casting float design challenge

Get those gotta make it work fishing hats on.
Converting a bubble float into a tip up tip down long cast float.
Slip or fixed like the one I made.

The orange one i half filled with hot glue but I filled the end. Thinking about filling half but laying down instead. Add a stick, tube or something in both ends for a tip up and down float. A 2 inch tip on both ends should be enough i think.

Add weights with the glue
Replace center piece with a dowel
Open to all suggestions. Have some on the way to experiment with.
