Upcoming trip In March

Original plan was for Reelfoot lake in second week of March. We are coming from north Illinois. I did not trust weather at Reelfoot.
We decided on a split trip between The Dead lakes in Gulf county and Talquin four days at each
I had been to Talquin when Seminole flooded us out a few years ago

I have choice of a Jon boat with a 25 hp or a deep v with 115 and a 10hp

The Jon boat has got more use lately and would encourage me to pack less

Anyone have experience on the Deadlake. We are camping on the west arm?
