Has anyone had good luck with this lake? thought about venturing down but its a 4 hr drive for me. kind of looks like a boating metropolis like the Ozarks so wasn't sure.. Don't need hot spots just if its worth the time. :cheers2

Fished Mark Twain the week before Christmas and did pretty good kept several around 10", best was 12-3/4". Fished last Tuesday and didn't do as well but still caught some. Mark Twain is nothing like Lake of the Ozarks. This time of year there won't be many boats out. Good Luck
I've never fished it yet, but back in the day there used to be a LOT of people posting about that lake, leading me to believe it's a great fishery.
To be fair, back in the day there were a lot of reports for everywhere!! :Rofl
Good luck if you go. Post your results!
We used to have a fun spring trip that several c.c members showed up for at MT. Weather would either turn the lake chocolate brown or be storms keeping us off the lake and flooding the boat ramps. Started going later to avoid that and it was much better fishing weather. Miss the Twain gathering N2Crappie know if route u's dad still fishing it? Good to see you still look on here a bit.

Don't know them personally but haven't seen any post from Route U in a while.
He moved to NC for work. Im sure they still have their great place by Florida.
BTW buddy has a couple houses and lots of land at original stoutsville. Sure we could use that as staging area and place to BBQ OR fry fish.

Nugget, Twain is a really good fishery, spring and fall are like anywhere else and the summertime day fishing is futile as the big boats are having their fun in the sun. Having said that, it is NOTHING like the Ozarks like N2Crappie has said. It is more comparable to Coralville Res. nightmares on weekends. I would spend most of my time in Lick Creek and Pigeon Roost. North and south forks are good but have more fishing pressure. With pixel fishing equipment we have today finding productive water is usually not a problem. It's about the same run as Rathbun with more paces to fish. I've fished them both a lot over the years.
