Blade baits have made a comeback in my book this year!
I hadn't used a Beetle spin (swing jig with blade) for a few years and found fish smacking the **** out if them! Same for Chatterbaits. So, in Aug. I made some b.spins using wire, swivel and small Colorado blade and they worked just as well.
But one thing caught my eye: I sell glitter to lure makers and noticed how the hologram glitter sparkled at different angles. So, I put a drop of nail polish on the concave side of the blade, sprinkled gold holo glitter and was amazed how it sparkled at different angles and in many colors.
A buddy who sells wire baits with blades, liked the idea, so I gave him a small bag. He showed me pictures and they looked great!
Rather than have only flash from a smooth metal surface, spots of glitter will allow color flashes in many directions even in low light and in murky water.
