Kayak Trip Report, Flint River
I fished Flint River this morning from Turkey Springs put in off Hobbs Island to the Tennessee River. Fishing was slow with a dozen larger Crappie returned and a couple dozen short. The fish were scattered and at all depths. Fish were caught everywhere from two feet deep down to 12 feet. I think the warm weather has them confused. Visibility was around a foot with water 57 degrees at the put in down to 56 near the mouth at the Tennessee River. Everywhere I went I found fish from 4 feet all the way to the bottom with no concentrations or schools anywhere. All fish came of single pole, nothing wanted to take a small jig casting.
FYI, lots of boats in Flint, not much catching by anyone else either. When it's 75 degrees the end of December you have to go fishing!!
Beautiful day on the water.
