lake PB Crappie
Still waiting on trout stocking at lake by the house but no go but fished anyway since I've been catching some crappie, gills and bass. I've been fishing this lake for over 60 years since I was a little guy and biggest I've caught has been a few 13" crappie. Fishing the brush along the front of the dock with a 1/24 oz bugger jig where there was a couple feet of shade swimming it over brush and then letting it drop felt a thump and big crappie came up and showed itself. Praying that it stays hooked and prayer was answered with this 15.25" slab. Couple of quick pics and released her.

Don't have a clue what they were doing, they had just gotten there. This crappie makes it 11 years in a row with at least one crappie over 15" so streak continues. On the thin side, probably on would have weighed 1.25 # or so.

first time I met Jim he was holding a much bigger crappie than that on a different local lake. WTG and I know EXACTLY where that is and will be on it in an hour! LOL
Congrats on the personal best and yes they did stock over STL area last couple days with good trout. I haven't ever done any good on that pier or area around it but know couple brothers who have caught some big ones out of that lake.
