Deep Thinking 🤔
Hello Fellow Crappie Lovers-
Newbie banker here.
So many of you anglers are lucky to have boats equipped with sonars to help with your fishing, but for me, I was thinking of purchasing a portable fishing sonar called the Deeper to better my chances at fishing.
Have any of you anglers used it or something similar, I would like to know your thoughts.
Or am I just overthinking and ruining the whole experience of having fun fishing?
Thanks for reading and mass thanks for replying.

Would be pretty cool if bank fishing but it in kayak or boat I’d look at a regular type unit. I had a little Lucky brand portable sonar and it worked but much better options with better accuracy. :twocents

Seen some bank versions of Sonar that did a so so job on fish locations
Sounds complicated to me

I bought a vexilar T pod and hooked it behind a remote control boat and it works great. You can use it with a fishing pole but needs to be heavy action to cast it. I fish mostly small lakes or pond. It was really worth the money. I’ll post a pic sometime. Thing I like about the T pod it’s wifi not Bluetooth so less drain on the phone battery.

Vexilar T Pod being pulled by RC boat. What a great idea. But did it spook the fishes to scatter giving you a false bottom reading?
Never heard of a Vexilar T Pod but I will look into it.
Thanks for chiming in Fishinglarry.

It actually gives me better readings than my helix 5 on my pontoon boat. A lot of time I will drive it to an area and just let it drift. Once again most water I fish is between 5 to 25 feet deep. I’m working on putting a variable speed control on the boat so it will steadily cruise slower. Most of the cheap boats are full speed or off. I’m really happy with the T pod. I’ve found the brush piles I’ve been losing all my jigs on. Now I can tell how deep to set my bobber.

Interesting concept shared. For me if I’m bank fishing I try to carry as little as possible and just enjoy the relaxing experience. JM2c
