The grreen machine

slow to nothing was what was happening the other day at a small lake in the first location I hit , it was fabulous the last visit and almost nada this go , so i tried another location for grins and it wasn't pretty , it was wind blown and had a really thick bright green carpet on top and foul odor coming from that area .....:dono
thought hmmmm, you never know , they might be right on the edge of that chart green soup carpet ...maybe....

SURE enough there them fishes were , I was after bluegill and just like that they was after me .....:crazy:
I failed to get a good image of the carpet and also failed bigtime on a large bass that I landed and needed a rinse to get off some of that foul green soup , stupid me went to wash him while he was still hooked and he blew me up and broke the line ....should have known better .....hahaha :Rofl
sometimes they might be were you least expect to find them , just saying :highfive

18 inches deep in water maybe 3 foot deep , tiny hand tie with a crappie nibble on it

Sounds alot like the dead end bayou I was in the ither day.
Do you fish the little jigs under a cork in the shallow water or just cast and retrieve?

Yep , it’s green soup time ! Algae showing up all over . Ponds are worse .
I’ve read minnows eat it .

It was pure soup bro , tiny jigs under a pencil float and a bit of drag and twitch, sunfish sure love a slow dragging along bait

Pea soup showing up here as well. Get's pretty thick in corners with the wind blowing in. Looks nasty but fish don't seem to mind. Less light penetration turns it into a shady spot which fish like in the summer.

That lake might be trying to turn over , not sure but it hasn’t been what it is lately

Glad to hear that you found some fish and the ones in the pics are respectable. Might not hurt to keep a jug of soap in the truck when it’s around. Some of what was around in FL was toxic, some even caused breathing issues..
