4 Spots in less than 4 hours.
I had the morning and part of the afternoon before the thunderstorms were due .
I thought I’d start close by at the closest reservoir and move depending on the bite .
All of the places I fish locally have limited areas that I can bank fish .
The first spot was a ramp and the huge dock area .
I usually fish the area between the dock and the bank . I’ve never had much luck fishing outward toward deeper water .
I’m going to post a picture of one of the areas that usually yields a few micros if I can thread my cast parallel to the dock .
When I first got to the area I fish the usually productive ramp without any success. For the heck of it I back out on the dock and made a cast to where an arm of the dock ran off making a 90 degree corner. I twitched my jig once and caught one of the nicest gills I’ve caught here recently. That spot gave up four nice gills . I was using an old black blank 5’ St Croix Triumph paired with a Daiwa 1000 Exceler and J braid . The rod was made in China before St Croix built their place in Mexico.
I’m going to post pictures of the four nice ones . I caught twelve total before moving on to the Mill creek about twenty minutes away .
I’m going to make separate pages for each spot visited today . I hope this is ok .
