Rain Shortened Trip
I’ve been rearranging rods and reels as well as swapping out the line again.
I’m going through a braid period again . :)
I learned a couple of years ago , I throw away mono and Floroclear, but when I remove braid from my reels , I hand wind it onto a large plastic spool (3000 yd size) . That way when I reuse it it comes off the way I wound it on and has the same twist , if it has any , as it did on the reel before .
Braid cost too much to toss . And I’m always changing my mind .
I took a couple five foot rod combos down to the closest reservoir docks this morning.
We’ve been having showers for a couple of weeks now . Feels like a month .
Anyway , when I left home the sun was shining, but the streets too wet to ride my bike .
Ten minutes later as i arrived at the docks , it was overcast with a few dark clouds .
By the time I walked from the parking lot to the docks , the sun was blazing and I felt like I was in a sauna.
Yesterday I caught 18 in less than an hour here . Today it was different. I caught four before it clouded up again and started raining . First it was a light rain , then I could hear heavy rain headed my way through the trees and I took off for the car .
BTW , I preferred the 5’ Presso over the Major Craft Ajing , but both were fun rods .
Still beats a skunk !

I’ve done the same with braid but after the second time trying and not liking it I trashed it. For me, I’ll stick to mono.

I agree with yall. I stick with fluorocarbon and mono.
