8-06-25 Monthly meetup

What used to be a weekly meetup has become a monthly event, because of weather .
First it was the heat keeping us away , then rain .
My buddy and I met around noon at an over full reservoir. Surprisingly, the water clarity was pretty good .
Fishing was tough . I think it was because of the sudden rise in water level that put a lot of the fish out of reach of our casting ability.
Still , in three short hours , my buddy caught twenty five fish , mostly gills and green sunfish , And I managed to land twenty two . My catch included a nice ultralight spotted bass caught on 1.75# test line .
Because of the areas we fished , some had high banks , I broke off three fish today .
Two were bass , the other was a nice size green sunfish.
I’m going to have to rig up a reel with braid again for fishing these areas .
As long as I have a place to beach my catch , I don’t have any issues landing nice fish on this super thin line .
Still great to get together. Our last trip was July 7th .

Good seeing you back out on the water. This summer certainly has been brutal. Sounds like you had a pretty good day with a nice bonus bass. It was colored up nice.
