Had me a small handful of jig heads that I painted with black nail polish , that darn cheap nail polish never would actually dry , I gave them a silver sparkle cover coat that sealed and dried and took them for some swim time .
Black has been good in a few spots lately , this go I used a "standard" size 1/16 ballhead with a number 6 sickle hook and an Arkie solid body tube plastic . Paired that jig with a float and went in for the win .
The bite was strange and the fish were in that there really lethargic mode , the jig had to be moving very slowly by them and NOT twitching , just a really slow drag by cover was the key to getting a bite .:highfive
Ran said jig about 5 foot under the float and drug it past standing vertical cover , proximity mattered and if the path was more than about 12 inches away from said cover , no bites nonono
Really pretty dark jig for sure and the fish seemed to think so as well .
Some regular black crappie bit it , some blacknose crappie bit it and so did some white crappie as well and the BEST part was no bream in the mix of what came to hand ....:highfive
all the fish were set free and then .....
KABOOM is typically very near , as you well know by now :Rofl
