Lost topographical on hummingbird

I have an older Humninbird [emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]]][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]]][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji640]] unit. When I started summer fishing this year I seem to have lost all topographic info. I’m fishing areas I have fished for years. Instead of depth readings, I only get the outline of the lake. U have [emoji638] different navigation chips for southern US that have worked in the past and now won’t work. Any ideas.

Have you tried switching slots with your map card? I had a similar situation last week and think either the slot went bad or the blank card went bad. Showed the right lake, correct outline, my position on the water but no contour lines. Even locked up my unit.
My daughter tells me that storage cards can go bad from numerous on/offs or too many write/erases. She is more savvy on this tech stuff than me so I'll mostly believe that. My unit is a G4 Helix 9, about 3-4 years old. Leave my blank card out and unit works correctly, even with my map card in the other slot.
You might also try putting the cards in and out a few times to sort of clean the contact areas if they don't get moved around much.

Just curious is that the new Lakemaster Premium VX v1.0 card? The one with the smart strike capability? I bought one last June with a new Helix 10 G4 DI/SI/ GPS. The card worked fine for a month or two then it wouldn't let me adjust lake level offset. It still would show the lake at normal pool depth, but couldn't offset anything depth / shallow water etc. It happened one day after I was playing with the unit and hit MOB (man overboard) button. I finally got that way point cleared and it still isn't right even did a factory reset to default settings nothing. Kind of forgot about it since it's on a pontoon and only used in the summer. MY old V2.0 Lakemaster have never given me an issue in 9 years.

I had 2 different cars to try. Used both with same results. I might try a factory reset

Double check that the card selection isn’t set to Basemap.

Problem solved. Reset factory settings and wiped the contacts on the chip. Now I just have to go back and get rid of all the screens I don’t use.
