Fun Friday night
I had to deliver some fuel for the gravel pit that I fish at this morning at 6:00. It was slightly overcast and the water was dead calm, just a beautiful morning. I couldn't help but think how much I'd rather be fishing instead of working. I was able to get out of work early so I called a buddy and had him meet me at waters edge. We got the boat in the water at 4:55 and at 4:58 we both had a crappie on! I could tell it was going to be a good time. Water temp 72 degrees and sun shining. A bit breezy in the beginning so I had my work cut out for me keeping the boat in one spot. Early in the trip we were in the crappie pretty good, no giants but mostly all keepers. The south end proved to be filthy with bass and bluegill...no crappie. As we made our way to the north end my buddy said I never thought I'd be sick of catching bass! lol. Once we go into the deep water again (12-15') we were into our target fish again. That was about 7-ish. We have it about 45 more minutes, dark was rolling in pretty fast and we had a bunch of fish to clean. My buddy followed me home and assisted with the cleaning duties. I sent him home with all the spoils. As for a count.... I forgot my new clicker in the garage so no accurate number , but probably kept 20-25 and total catch numbers was easily in the triple digits. Awesome evening.

You guys sure had a big time! Good to see him out on the water again. I bet he's been looking forward to this trip since you took him last year.
