When I was a kid, I was out fishing with my Grandpa and ran across the same thing. Not sure if the larger one was tryna eat the smaller one or if they were after the same Shad & that happened, but we netted'em & took them apart and sent them on their way. We felt that was the "sportsman" thing to do. Glad to see the kayak angler thought the same.
