Stellar night

Our local sporting club opened Wednesday night skeet shooting today. So of course I went and had a great two rounds, shot my first 50 straight using my favorite 28ga Remington 870. Shooting is followed by dinner (dogs and burgers for the opener), normally I hang around and chew the fat but.... I knew the crappie were biting last night. I had told a friend of mine and 6lbtest that has permission to fish the same private water. He was into them pretty good when I got there at 7-ish. I whipped out a rod and had a great time helping him fill his pail. He was delighted at the size of the fish this year. He caught his personal best at about 14". I was t counting but he's got a few meals worth. As usual a nice bass ended up on my line also.

Congrats on the straight and another successful fishing trip. Open water or hard water, you've had some blistering hot trips lately. Looking at our friends pic, that fish is certainly darkened up for the spawn. That time of year is coming for sure.
