Feels good to get that 1st one of year, doesn't it? Congrats and here's hoping for a bunch more this year.
Nothing wrong with crappie fishing from the bank and you got some nice ones. Bonus is you didn't have to hook up and haul boat to lake and haul it back when finished. Just grab a rod or two and go fishing. I like simple fishing.

I really don't mind bank fishing, but under the bridge is covered in large uneven rocks. A good place to fish but not easy to get around on for this old guy.
