the lost pond
I found it , one of those "lost" ponds , them ones that are really old and been there for eons ....
in woods at a spot I have been hunting at one time last year , told myself I might return with a rod someday and so it was ...
a beautiful setting and out went my float and jig .....
had it set about 12 inches deep and it laid up first cast to the middle on the lost pond ?:dono
I thought to myself no way , less than a foot deep in the middle ?
got a tiny peck as I reeled in back in and thought well there is at least one fish in here.:Rofl
set the float shorter and casted again and ketched what might have been the smallest green sunfish I ever saw ......
casted to and fro and ketched another tiny one .....
finally ketched a couple of mama and papa fish and left there going oh well ..............
a really shallow old pond full of lil greenies beats nada by a frog hair ....right ....
KABOOM :highfive
p.s. I sparred yawl having to see them micro 2.5 inch percheez ....just saying nonono

You could catch fish in a toilet bowl! :Rofl
-
I would have been happy with those .
Beats what I caught yesterday in a 350 acre reservoir with 25’ water in some places .
Just saying. Kaboom

Never know until you try. Good job
-
Kaboom it was. Better a few than none. Next pond will be better.

i can relate. To lost ponds. And a lost generation.
20 +/- Years ago fished a few time in a stock pond. All small fish, Bass too.
Was a Coyote hunting spot. Ducks would black out the sky. Doves flew over constantly.

He has been deceased for some years now. I gained an understanding about life from him, with few words spoken.
Made a photo essay of how he lived at the time.
Lost ponds, Lost people, lost generations.

I know of about five ponds that probably haven't been fished in the last 10 years. I may have to try them out this spring.
