Best crappie reels for jigging and bobber fishing?
I really like the BnM Pro reels. Both 50 and 100. Won’t break the bank….
Panfish Reels - B'n'M Pole Company
I don't think their is a really best reel. You can spend $10 - $200 for a reel and they will all catch crappie. Give me a good mid-level Shimano, Daiwa, Pfluger etc. and I am ready to catch some fish.
Like Grainraiser I'm all over the place on this. I really like my Pfluegers but I'm not brand loyal. I have almost every brand.
Phlueger and Shimano. I don’t have to worry about whether my reel can handle whatever takes my lure.
Shimano Sienna gets my vote, but I have several brands. Lew's reels are great too.
The two I'm most pleased with are my two Shimano Spirex 2000's & my two Mitchell 300x's (all of which are quite old, but still function very well). I say they're "old" so as not to be confused with the newer or latest models.
My Spirex's are a rear drag & a front drag ... both are "quickfire" & have the double paddle handles.
My Mitchell's have a single flat paddle handle & are very smooth reeling reels.
I prefer the flat paddle style handles over round knob style handles.
I use diawa, but I agree with this, I have had big bass and catfish either break my 4# mono, or destroy the smoothness of the dragon. With a good drag I still get broken off once in a while, but, just like trout fishing, the line size matters both in lure action, and not feeling overguned for the fish angled for.

I’ve had good luck with Mitchell and Shimano mid level reels
The cheap $19.98 a piece at Walmart Shimano FX is what I use as far as spinning. Any cheap bait caster works good as a line holder on a long rod if fishing shallow.
