Got out late this morning and the fish were all down in the mud so trolling the lake was slow going hitting here and there. Found a nice brush pile on way home in deep water and made quick work of pulling up some dinner. Happy 2025!!!!

I was out last Saturday in SE Indiana, most fish were stuck in the mud, but the few that were a couple feet off the bottom showed some interest in my minnows. I will add in SW Ohio this morning, we broke a 77'-78' record of 8.4" of snow with another 2-4" coming, so my Florida fishing trip cant come soon enough.
Well we’re not getting 9” of the white stuff but tomorrow is gonna be 35 and right now it’s blowing 25 so I might as well be where you are. Good day to strip old line and replace broken guides.
Gonna hit it hard end of the week thinking they should be in the pads and will do some trophy hunting after they adjust to this cold snap.
funny how the definition of " deep" changes from lake to lake,
14-15 ft we would call shallow on my home lake, deep here is more like 20-25.. :)
Those are some dark crappie , are they spawning where you are ?

lol true! 14’ - 15’ is deep in the river. The lake I live on, Lake George, is the 2nd largest lake in FL and is only 12’ in the middle most of the lake is 4’-7’.
I would call those fish advanced pre-spawn some females had eggs but the egg sacks were not fully developed; that’s how our fish look all year.
should be posting some tanks over the next few days.
