tail material question

probably a dumb question, but can someone tell me what material makes up the orange portion of the tail on the jig pictured?

Cut your neck hackle into v’s. That’s all I use in my ties now are 7 v’s. I tie three on top and then tie two on each side. Lay the v’s together in you fingers and then fluff them out until however you like.
