I was wondering how everyone approaches the upper end of LOZ, like 70 mm up to the dam, there really is no standing timber, but there are scattered brush piles. Is that the key? brush piles and docks?

I was wondering how everyone approaches the upper end of LOZ, like 70 mm up to the dam, there really is no standing timber, but there are scattered brush piles. Is that the key? brush piles and docks?
I've also had fair luck trolling small crank baits in shallow creek channels in my kayak. Never did hit it big with a lot of fish at one spot but wouldn't get skunked as a rule. Usually caught catfish as well.
This time POF year docks and brush. You can also find them schooling in open water.
