Buddy, I haven't got a clue on what reel to put on it. I was lucky and had an old Shakespeare Alpha XT 1000 UL reel laying around that worked great. The rod does have the "Tenn Handle", so you can move the reel around some ... but it's still gonna have to be a pretty light weight reel. The good thing is that you won't have to worry about the outfit being tip end heavy, as I don't think they make a spinning reel THAT light. At least not one that'd be useful to dock shoot with.
The biggest problem I have with trying to find a match in weight for reels is that many brands don't list how much their reels weigh. And if I'm remembering correctly, I never found out how much that Alpha XT 1000 reel weighed when I was trying to find another UL reel. It had a graphite housing, so I don't think it would have weighed more than 4-5oz (if that).
If it's possible, you may want to do what I did to pair up the latest addition to my rod/reel stash ... and that is to take the rod to a BPS, Cabela's, Academy Sports, or whatever retail sporting goods store you have locally and have them match a reel to that rod.
