River Crappie Moving Now
Well with the cooler water temps the Crappie are finally moving up river. On the bottom of the pile are 2 Slabs to go with the Tacos. As I went further up river the smaller the Crappie got. We are looking good after the massive Saltwater Intrusion last year. Too numerous schools of small Crappie to count in the river this Fall. More like our normal conditions although I started out catching 13in Speckled Trout on Crappie jigs where I was catching Crappie 2 weeks ago.

It’s been an unusual fall this year. Last couple of years I was finding large groups of descent sized fish on my favorite recruiting spots. This year it’s been hit or miss and more miss than hit if you know what I mean.
Drought, hot summer, salt water intrusion all key factors here in the Deep South fishing rivers and bayous that empty into the salty gulf.
So much to learn.
Bon Temps!!

Hit 5 more very nice fish this afternoon but pulled the hook on one good one. All was hooked right on the edge of the mouth, very soft bites, once the water started moving good the bite shutdown for me.
