It seems to me that hand tied jigs are harder to see on LiveScope than plastics. Has anyone else noticed the same?
Many of my jigs have Crystal Chenille bodies and Marabou tails.

Not seen that myself . I only use 1/8 or 1/4 oz . A few times in real deep water add a split shot above . What size led head are you using on hand ties ? I make these from 1/8 oz. unpainted, red thread , super glue and Walmart sacks .:biggrin

I had Patrick at Woods and Water pour me some 3/16 with #4 hooks which I use for my hand ties. I tie a bead around 9 inches above and they show up good on livescope.
Since most fishing is in less than 6’, 1/32 or 1/16 are used. A faceted clear bead or a 1/32 worm weight is set about 8” above with a bobber stopper.
Use a bead and or split shot 6-10" above the hand tied and you can see about where your jig is. It is easier to see a 2" plastic, but everything you add to the line enhances visibility of your lure.

Another question ... if fishing in that shallow of water, are you using "Perspective Mode" or just the regular "Forward View" orientation ?
I rarely fish in water <6' deep, but when I do it's likely with a 1/16oz marabou Road Runner ... unless it's over or around brush, and then I'll be using a 1/16oz weedless jighead & plastics. In those cases I'm using my LS to scan for brush/wood and to see how big the pile is and how deep the top of it is, along with where the fish are positioned on that cover, so as to determine whether to use the RR or jig. On cover in >10fow I'm using my 12' rod & a double jig rig in the traditional "Livescope flippin" method.

Use FFS exclusively.
Lasy year I tried clicking the tdx up but didn’t see any difference in splash down. May have to re-visit that. LS is set to a forward range of 20’.
This is typical for our fishery. It is quite different fishing in South Louisiana. No deep water.
Sonar sends back a response to whatever it hits with a pulse .
Try tying you jig bodies fatter maybe….?
I used a small white fluffy hand tie the other day and it was as visible as the tiny worm weight most of the time . I almost never use LS , BUT if did ,I would add something above the jig , it helps big ….
We hit 12 or so fow and when I used just the jig , it was not near as easy to see my jig as it was with a weight above it
