Kayak Trip Report, Limestone Bay/Creek
I returned to Limestone today fishing from Daylight till around 12:00. I kept half a limit and returned or gave away about the same number of larger fish. All fish came off single pole on laydowns with fish about 6 to 8 feet deep. I'm still using a 1/30oz jig head with the Zman WormZ in Chartreuse. The water was 52 degrees with visibility around a foot clearing to about 2 1/2 feet closer to the river. Got to link up with JenniferG and her boyfriend. They're fishing from a canoe and trying to figure out this crazy Crappie thing. I passed on a little of what I've learned.

They say crappie fishing is hard, but for Ditch Basser, it's harder not to catch one.
Yeah, yeah...everyone knows how nice Ditch Basser is. He met up with us yesterday and told us his secrets. He also gave us a bunch of fish. He was so great! But have you ever watched him fish? It is poetry in motion. In fact,
When Ditch Basser casts his line, the crappie jump on just to say they met him
He tied a world record for the largest crappie...3 times in one day
He can catch crappie in the desert with a dry hook
Fish finders aren't necessary for him...he whispers and the fish come to the surface
He once caught a crappie so fast, it traveled back in time
He once caught a crappie so big, it had its own zip code
Scientists study Ditch Basser's technique - not to understand him, but to understand the crappie that can't resist him
Thanks so much Ditch - you're the best!!!!:heart
