Kayak Trip Report, Limestone Bay/Creek
I dragged my kayak into the upper end of Limestone today parking at the old iron bridge. The water was 66 degrees with visibility of about 18 inches in the creek, but less than a foot in the pits. Fish came off a mix of jig and bobber or single pole on isolated brush. The fish were active, and I caught just about everything that lives in Limestone Creek keeping half a limit of Crappie that were 9 to 10 inches and returning a couple limits of larger fish. Gills were everywhere with numerous Catfish mixed in. I returned a couple dozen Bass (the largest about 6 pounds) with most between 12 and 15 inches. I even caught a couple small sauger that were returned. Deer and Turkey on the banks and fish hitting everything that moved, truly a beautiful and blessed day!
