Do you prefer electric or cable steer trolling motor when livescoping? I’ve been using a cable steer and the torque is getting bad in the wind. What is your preference and why. Thanks.

I have electric on my first real boat (MK Ultrex). Pretty happy with it. Acts fast, accurate, and low effort.
I manage to chase down catfish jugs with a Terrova. It does a great job.
I've been spoiled by spotlock and electric steering, so I go with electric steering. If I don't have to moved the head around precisely, a Terrova is fine, although I currently have an Ultrex (despite the cables going from foot pedal to steering system, it is electric steer). I also considered the Garmin Force since I also have a Garmin fishfinder for Livescope; however, I'm enjoying contour follow with Humminbird and Minn-Kota Advanced GPS.
I’ve had both. I’m terrible at one poling so I just spider-scope. The electric tm works great for that.

If you want to constantly stay with your foot on the trolling motor pedal, get a cable steer. If you can sacrifice a little lag time and want to be able to leave the peddle for more than 3 seconds, get an electric steer. I've had both and I'll never go back to a cable steer again! :twocents
Ultrex is cable steer with electric assist.

Ultrex is the way to go
I say cable steer to chase open water Crappie with transducer on my motor shaft. Some like the electric but with those many have separate transducer pole .
