I like the idea of catching your bait with a net instead of always buying them.

Those are good catfish bait too.

recently while fishing next to piers under bridge the water around us was alive with shad this size. something was constantly busting into them thought it was school of bass but turns out when I caught one it was a 13 crappie with gaping mouth that shad fit into easily.

Last month at Barren River while waiting to load I observed two fella casting a net by the ramp before they took ff for an evening of fishing. Certainly cheaper…
