Bluegrass
Once upon a Time I used all plastic jigs and one of my favorites was one by Big bite baits in a bluegrass color. It just seemed to outperform all others.
After starting tying I came up with a color combination that mimicked bluegrass well. That was a long time ago so I decided to try again using faux bucktail.
Here's the original color in plastic along with bucktail version I just tied. Came out pretty well.

I like it. What kind of paint did you use on the jig head?
I attempted some buck tails last winter using some sheep skin I had left over from a project. The sheeps hair looks like a cloud behind the jig head. Looks really cool to me, but not sure about the fish. I have caught bass and blue gill on them.

Good job and bluegrass color. I believe the jig paint color is dragonfly.

Thanks guys.
The paint is Pro-Tech dragonfly and the bucktail is blue and chartreuse mixed over peacock green flash.

You're post pointed me to the DIY section of the forum. I was unaware of the DIY jigs you guys are making. I need to do some more digging. I see posts about powder paint, crackle paint, pouring jig heads, etc. I may be hitting you up for tips. My wife will be so happy that I've found another hobby!

Nice job and that tie will outlast that plastic!

Tie one up with lime green string to see how it looks. Yours does look good.
