Drilling Out the Opening in a Slip Cork

Well to start with we have 10 pound Redfish eat our shiners while Crappie fishing. That's Ok as I fish with 10# Mr Crappie Camo line on my shiner poles. After a bit the corks & line get contaminated with scum from the water's surface then the line quits slipping. Y'all may do this already but I drill all my corks out with a 1/16 drill bit.

These are Bass Pro Shops Floats but the brand does not matter they all start sticking unless you use smaller line. You can see the float on the left has a much larger hole than the one on the right. Works fantastic.

Bud I use a cordless drill with a 1/16th drill bit. If you have smaller it works too, I was using Dremel Drill Bits with a Dremel tool at first before switching to the cordless drill. I was just over thinking it. I do not put a lot of pressure on the bit but kinda hold it back a bit to get a cleaner opening.

Thank you John. I was thinking of a small drill press, but it probably has a bit too much walker in it for that small stem...

The spelling checker in this phone has been working overtime...it was supposed to be a bit too much walking in it...like wobbles around too much before biting the material...
