If your computer will bring this map of Taylorsville up, you can zoom in on the two "humps" mentioned in my old post.
Or try this one : i-Boating : Free Marine Navigation Charts & Fishing Maps
This is zoomed in on the supposed "hump" across from the dam, but I don't know how accurate it is since the other maps don't show its depth as being 30ft ... they show only the 52ft hole in that area. i-Boating : Free Marine Navigation Charts & Fishing Maps
If I was a betting man ... I'd say those reports were referencing the rock hump on the main lake around the corner from the marina as you're on your way towards the dam. A lot of people troll or drift that section of the lake for Hybrids. I haven't fished Taylorsville for the past couple of years, so I'm not sure what's going on there these days. Even when I was going and fishing for Hybrids, I never trolled this area on account of so much traffic & wind waves. I usually spent most of the time trolling the last third of the stretch before you get to the "horseshoe bend" ... usually staying in the 12-15' depth range. We trolled blade baits for the most part, but did use cranks with a jig trailing 18-24" behind (leader tied to the front trebles).
Luck2ya ... and let us know how you do !!
