FINALLY got back to my cabin for a couple of days
Dealing with contractors trying to get my house back in order and hard to get away with blue tarps all over the place. did get roof on and all others coming soon felt comfortable getting away. Still don't have CDC app and tapatalk is useless as Samsong passwords keep popping up and doesn't let me get to site which is frustrating.
enough whining now to the lake but my friends I reached out to said fishing was so bad many who are regulars are doing other things but you know that never stops me. I'm going to wet a line and see for myself.
went to favorite dipping place and actually got two good keepers on first two drops. then a guy came right up next to me and he brought minnows. I usually will out ketch minnow boys but will have to admit he started ketchn more and bigger ones than I did. still after reports I was very happy to leave with a dozen when the dang hot sun made me want to go and take a nap. hey sometimes they want meat.
had lovely evening alone with the blessed silence and sitting on our deck facing east grilled a nice steak I bought on way with cold bottle of Yuengling. Moon rose looking full right in front of me and I enjoyed the show. I would be meeting buddy charlie in morning to go to our honey hole lake where we have had great success fishing out of his small boat so I set alarm and went to sleep. True Mound Miracle I slept straight thru and woke one minute before alarm! Have had terrible time sleeping last couple months so this was a blessing.
met charlie and we got on the water right at daybreak as this has proven to be a very early bit which shuts off at 8 30. Well we got out there and he caught a keeper on first cast with jig but then after that I finally caught a good one and a keeper BG. we moved to the other spot we have had success at and boy was it on, fish after fish only to be tossed as they were all dinks dang it. finally started trolling around lake trying to find where they were, he has a FF but it's still in the box so we are just guessing. Charlie suddenly had a real good something on and when he landed it was Red ear sunfish which we don't usually find here and over a pound.
we then just cruised shored edge all around lilies and while it was pretty nothing.
he had motor troubles so he went home and I went back and hit my fav again. Not as good as yesterday but still caught 5 solid keepers. cleaned 10 which made neighbors cats happy.
