I finally poured some ponys and used mustard 32833 hooks and they turned out well i think. Was a little tough getting the worm holder hook thing to turn out every time but I expected that. 3/8 was a 3/0, 1/4 is 1/0 and 1/8 is a #1. So anyone looking for a beefier hook to use in them, there ya go! Attachment 493097

Surprised you got that heavy wire hook to pour well!! Watch out when you go back to regular wire hooks you might have to do some extra trimming. I've never had a problem with the regular wire hooks in either the Horsehead or Pony head molds.
I didn't modify the mold or anything, the hooks just fit well. I don't have many larger light wire hooks to try. Not much call for them in salmon and and salt water applications.
Gonna try a squid skirt with a #3 and maybe #4 or 5 blade for salmon and steelhead.
Now I just have to figure out how to powder coat them!

Yep put it on before you heat them up, and make sure to take it off before curing!!
