Walmart bag jigs

I been using a homemade jig made using Walmart sacks . Started out just to prove a point that presentation means more than baits. Been hammering limits with these bait for weeks. People on facebook told me they looked at Walmart but could not find any. :Rofl Take your sack home and make you some .
I just wrap thread around a jig head ( I prefer 1/8 oz, style don't matter. I mostly use unpainted tube jig heads. Some I sprayed lead with paint ), color not real important . Super glue then add the plastic bag. Wrap again with thread and apply more glue. Don't worry if you make the tails too long, just trim them with scissors.
I been dropping this jig on their nose and holding it with livescope . Boat control and presentation is the key. I used tube baits and handties for years but believe colors were to catch fishermen.
I cannot tell any difference in the bite with these over anything I have used to catch Crappie . Proof is in the pudding , catching limits every trip last several weeks . Caught them back in the spring, now in 100 degree temps . I would wager they will be deadly this winter too.

Now make some with the blue Walmart sacks green thread and see if they have the same catch rate on a slow day. ( because as we all know some days they hit bare hooks )

BUT ,most of our Walmart's ONLY have them darn grey bags ,,,,,and as you might have guessed color matters bro :Rofl:Rofl:Rofl

No doubt there's a time when it doesn't matter, but IIRC you're mostly catching whites. We're predominantly black crappie here. When water temps get above 85 here, it's typically clear as well, you really have to dial in what you're using along with presentation. You can't let it sit still in front of them or they lose interest. Going more or less for a reaction bite, on a tiny jig.

That said, we've got some lakes that have healthy whitefish populations, and those things are like piranhas in the summer (well all year), when you get on them. Can usually tell when you get on a white fish on the scope by how aggressive they are.

Once temps get down to 75ish and the water here gets some color back to it, I agree, you can catch blacks and whites on almost anything you put in front of them. The blacks just dont play that game here when its hot and clear lol

FACTS bro .....white crappie are dumb as rocks compared to black crappie and far less aggressive most of the time ......
sides all that, it is my opinion from what I have experienced and what I have read the blacks actually have better eyesight as well
