Finally !
I got to go fishing with my fishing bud from south of me .
We meet at Lake West Point , which is about the same distance from both of us . Me going south , him coming up north about an hour .
Weather was was supposed to be sunny , with low to upper 80s , high 89 , with 6-9mph NNW winds .
Well , they goy it all right except the wind . Wound up being 9-17mph from the south and south west , with it ended up straight into my face from the west .
We had a heck of a time getting on fish , especially with the unexpected water level being down a couple of feet . Leaving some of spots difficult to get to or high and dry l
In the end , my buddy caught 14 , mostly green sunfish and small gills .
I only caught 13 , but a mixed bag , with 6 greenies , a couple small gills , a small spotted bass , and the four that made the trip for me , two redbreast and a couple of crackers .
Most were caught on a 56 St Croix Avid/ Shimano Soare XR500 spg combo or my 5 Daiwa Trout X XUL/Daiwa Fuego Lt 1000 combo .
The wind was so bad , some of my cast would be blown back at me and would only go about 15-20 .
I caught the shellcrackers m one each on 5he different combos . I dont know which was more fun . Those crackers can pull .
The larger one was caught with the Daiwa XUL.
