without a means to look into the water , a fella sure is at a disadvantage .
now in some cases a fella might already know where they are .
heck he might even know what they will likely bite .
but here in lies the main problem in some cases ....
how man are actually down there ?
is it a few ....or a herd ....:dono
it is difficult to say in lot's of cases , sometimes I am sure there are tons of them under my feet and I just can't get them to bite .
other times I think maybe they just are not there .
one thing for certain though , these fish bit so VERY ridiculously soft and feather like it is hard to describe .
the 4 of us missed literally hundreds of bites ! :yikes
I think I missed about the first 10 or more bites myself .
H had it worser and my poor wife and daughter were getting the schooling of their lives ! :Rofl
dialing it in was beyond tough and more than a few times you would "think" maybe that was a bite and set the hook on nothing ....other times, up would come a foul hooked fish in the head area . those fish for sure bit and spit and you had to have a fast hand beat them to the punch line ...
sure was tough on us , lots of laughs though and to be very sure I told my daughter an entire bottle of crappie nibbles for one fish is NOT a good thing :Rofl
I swear she was just feeding the fish ,it became comical at some points watching so much hook setting and so much frustration on the missed bites, was pretty darn funny stuff ....
no worries though , I filled in a few gaps and we left we 40 or 50 or .so
somethings in life are truly priceless ....
watching that much hook setting and no fish coming up was priceless :biggrin
the owner of the lake said he couldn't get a bite the day before we hit it and I said it was really tough to ketch a few , he said how many did you ketch?
I said we boxed 40 or 50 , he of course called bs and I said if you think I am kidding around , just go look in the ice chest my friend :highfive
and in the end ....
KABOOM is the word
p.s. I used a white jig , a pinkish white jig and a pink and white jig
