been a few since I was able to get out. The weather looked to be fairly calm after all the storms Sunday. I got out on mostly calm water with just a light occasional wind on Soddy Creek. Not having a lot of time, I hit a dock that has been fairly productive of late. Water temp was around 82 degrees and a bit muddy after all the rain. I pulled in behind said dock and quickly pulled in 4 small striped things. Now I am not edumacated enough to know what breed these little fellows are but usually if I find them, I find crappie also. Now if anyone would care to enlighten me on the name I would greatly appreciate it.

Once these guys quit playing the crappie decided to visit. Caught 5 that were 11 to 12 inches. About with a fellow out with his two sons came inching around the dock and apologizes to me for intruding. well, I just tell him no worries and he is welcome to fish on his side of the dock. He asked if I had live scope and that he sees hundreds of something under the dock. He says thanks for the offer but moved on hunting bass. A little while later a young man walks out onto the dock with a rod and some gear to get some bluegill. First time I had seen or met any of the family that owns the dock. After exchanging some pleasantries, I moved a little to give him some space. He sees me pull one of the crappies out and asks what I use. I tell him and I show him the spot I usually get something. I then move on around and pull a couple of 12 inch crappie out of the middle area. As I work my way around the family comes down, Dad, mom, 2 young brothers and I think a sister. Well the young boys tell me they are going tubbing and want to know how I catch fish. I think the first young man had gone and told his dad what he seen me catch. Mom asked me also and I explained what I use and how I fish their dock. She tells the young man, "Listen to this guy, he knows what he is doing!" It was all I could do not to laugh, but it felt good to maybe help someone learn something. What little I know I learned from the good folk on CDC and told them to look up the web page and get some slab sauce. So, I caught a few and made some new friends. Was a good day. :fish
